91 Cherokee Stalling Problem
Hi Everyone,
I have been lurking for a while but this is my first post.
I am having a problem with my 91 cherokee stalling on me during driving. It will just cut out while driving, sometimes it starts right back up sometimes it takes a couple minutes and one time it wouldn't start till the next day. Fuel pump is relatively new, filter is new, plugs/wires/cap are about a year old. Now I know the crankshaft posittion sensor can cause such problems. But when I tested it with my ohm meter the resistance was within spec. Is the sensor something that can "come and go" while it is on its way to failure, or should I consider it good since it tested OK when I tested it.
Its a 91 cherokee sport, 4.0 with 230k on the clock
Thanks

not saying its a solution.. but swap a PCM from a 91 in a JY..
i ve done that with out any problems .. my friend had aZJ that would cut out and then just start back up.. ended up being the pcm.
on a 91 ..its on the side of the driverside fender under hood.
try to take it off and spray some electronics cleaner stuff in the plug..
just a suggestion

I got the joy of replacing the wifes CPS on her 88' today.. Test number one (checking resistance) came back fine and dandy.. Test number two (VAC from hall effect) failed..
