Default 91 Cherokee limited no start

my 91 Cherokee limited decided to not start the other day. i went out to my truck to start it and i got nothing but a click and my alarm started going off. i havent had any problems in the two years of having it. i have a new battery. once i try to start it all of the dash power shuts off until i disconnect the battery and recconect it again. im bypassed the alarm to see if that was the problem, but still same the problem without the alarm. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Start with the basics- check the battery cables, the battery terminals and connectors, the ground connectors and cables. Clean, tight and no corrosion?

Post a pic of the cables on the battery if you can. Mine was doing almost the same exact thing.

What tests have you performed on the starter?
