91 cherokee engine squeal question
I got a 91 cherokee laredo with the standard 4 liter 6 cylinder engine, with a manual transmission. It has developed a squeal in the engine bay somewhere. When the engine is cold, it's silent. After warming up for about 20 min, it begins squealing. This squeal is high-pitched, being loudest when the car is idling, both in gear and in neutral, and decreasing in volume when I accelerate. It fully disappears when the tachometer hits around 2500 rpm. As soon as it drops below this value, the squeal returns. I am wondering if anyone knows what may be causing this and what I'm looking at as far as an approximate repair bill goes. Any input is greatly appreciated... Thanks
