Hey guys,
I've got a 90 xj with a 5 speed swapped in out of a 95, transfercase included. I found a 29 spline Speedo gear in the 95's tcase, which is exactly what I need (35s on 3.73 gears). I swapped the long shaft Speedo with the short, ie the old style long renix shaft is now holding the new 29 spline gear. My question is, why does the Speedo still not work? Is there a length adjustment I have to do so it meets the mainshaft in the tcase? Or did I just mess something up?

Hmm, will do. I did re adjust the actual Speedo gear unit that bolts onto the tailshaft housing, so it's pointed at 26-30. Still no Speedo reading :/
