My 1990 XJ driver side window is stuck mid-range. I can move it up or down 6 inches and then stops in either direction. So, I cannot completely close or open the window.
I have the door exposed and I physically cannot force it past these end points. Power window motor? I'm not sure of the role of the window regulator? I worked on the door a few years ago, cleaning and lubricating the rails. Any help appreciated.

OK, this is most likely a regulator problem. Any tips on how to force the window up while I wait for my part?

I used to be able to do this. Not now, it is locked solid at the top and bottom of the limited range.Originally Posted by mwdouglas
