'90 XJ 2.5 High Idle/Excessive Fuel Consumption
I have a 90 XJ with the 2.5, the engine high idles mostly after freeway speeds. It has the 4 speed auto tranny in it. Driving normally around town it does not seem to have a problem. Also it seems to be drinking more fuel then a 4 banger should. A friend of mine once said he seemed to be smelling gas coming from the exhaust. It does have 214,xxx miles on it. I replaced the head gasket on it when I bought it and replaced the vaccum hoses. Any help with this would be very much appreciated!
