Default 89 xj brake booster upgrade questions

Im sorry if this has been asked before but i searched and got nothing back. Has any one done an brake booster upgrade to the pre1994 single diaphragm brake booster to the 95-96 dual diaphragm? I know the booster is a bolt on replacement with minimal modding. My question is do you have to do anything to the brake lines going in to the new brake master cylinder? Are the fittings the same size?

No need to apologize. Sometimes it just works that way.

I did it, put a booster in from a 2000 Grand Cherokee. I will take a look it it. It involved some brake line flaring if I recall correctly, but overall it was really easy. You also have to match the metal plunger to your stock one or your brake light will always stay on. If you are going to do the rear disc brakes, you will need a proportioning valve from a ZJ.

when i did the one on my 90, i used a brake booster/master from a 99. i had to divorce the prop valve as the 99 it was bolted to a bracket on the master. i simply lowered it to reach my lines, and had to have one line made up from a brake shop with a double flare on the prop end and a bubble on the master end. (if i recall correctly, it was at least 10 years ago). lol

as for the push rod, i just reamed out the hole, and ground the end flat for my brake switch. simple. i didn't bother cutting it down as the 99 is longer which just makes my pedal a little bit higher. took a few drives to get used to it, but in the end, it works just fine. i can practically stand it on it's nose with 36's but with the single booster, i had to plan my stops from 100 yards. lol
