I've been checking mine('89 Renix) the past few fill-ups and have been getting 15.5-15.8 with mostly city driving. I took a trip out to the desert earlier this month and averaged 19.06 mpg. That was with a 5000 foot elevation gain, lots of idling and slow going on dirt roads, and Jeep filled to the headliner with camping stuff (and rum)... plus, a wicked 40 mph headwind most of the way home.

Start with your speedo gear...at least then your odometer will read correctly, and you can calculate your REAL mpg.

I will admit however I have a bunch of the emissions stuff plugged and have a very bad exhaust leak. that's prob why i get such bad gas mileage, the PO did a bunch of stuff that Im still finding out. The check engine light is not on thought. so Im thinking it is unplugged.
