Not meaning to knock on the jeep just really frustrated when it is 115 degrees outside and I am laying in the dirt trying to work on this thing. It would have been cheeped to buy a newer jeep then replace everything I have replaced on this and still need to replace.

:-(.... sorry you feel that way. I love my renix but I guess it is easy for me as working on cars is second nature... go to WWW.lunghd.com they have very comprehensive info on diagnosing and fixing renix jeeps. You will.find the.info you seek.there.

If my ac compressor is going bad will that cause it to overheat. wont it just freeze up. Im hearing a clicking sound coming from the front of the motor on the compressor side. How can I test the clutch. Or what can I do to diagnose this problem?

Start the jeep with the ac off and look at the center of the compressor pulley. If the center is spinning its frozen if its not you're good.

Quote: slick: no, you didn't stutter, but firestorm said something that sounded like he was disagreeing. Again.
Guys, mmatterns1985's original post was concerning overheating. This poor fella has been all over his Jeep, spending lots of money and time, trying to fix the overheating problem. He is getting understandably frustrated. He never said he has an oil pressure problem, either high or low. It might cost him a few horsepower having to pump the thicker oil, but I don't believe that's going to cause overheating to the degree he's getting.

The merits or thicker vs. thinner oil has been discussed in other threads. If we were to heat his 60/40 mixture of Lucas/oil on a stove to 210 degrees, I bet it would flow reasonably well.

As I posted earlier, I believe his main problem is somewhere in the head. This is from personal and expensive experience. I can't say exactly what happened internally in my head, but it was present before and after the rebuild as I said. Yes, the head gasket was FelPro and it was installed properly. I had done everything he has done, and more. The oil I used was conventional 10W-30 with a MOPAR filter.

A/C compressors usually make a ticking noise as they are moving freon. Maybe it is internal valves or ports opening or closing inside, I don't know for sure. If it was locked up, when you hit the A/C switch inside, the belt would squeal like a banshee.

Having an overheating engine is miserable, especially after throwing parts, time and money at it. Believe me, I know firsthand. I would hate to see mmattern1985 sell his Renix, but if he feels he needs to I understand.

Ok so I was searching through treads and I found "symptoms of a blown head gasket and I think that is what the problem is. I gotta do some tests but I have a few of the symptoms mentioned.
