Use 5W-30 in the winter, and maybe 10W-30 in the summer. I get triple digits here, too, and I run 10W-30 in the summer.

Firestorm: if an engine does not receive sufficient enough or incorrect lubrication, it will overheat. I wouldn't doubt it with him running so much "stabilizer" in the crank.

Did I stutter? Or was I just not legible?

It says on the Lucas bottle that for and old worn out motor to use that percent of oil additive. There is actually a demo gear at auto zone that proves it lubricates better than any oil. Im just gonna try using royal purple then.

And no I don't have a spring in the lower hose. Nobody sells that hose here. I read on one of the forums that u can order it from the dealer for 30 bucks but I am really strapped for cash now that I have dumped a few thousand into this jeep and it is slow for my work here in the summer.

I have used Lucas. Mainly in my 289 in the mustang. But the bearing clearances in it are bigger and the oil passages are bigger. I only use 1 quart in a 6 quart system though. It quiet everything down but its.a little different animal. Besides I'm waiting for it to POP so I can build the 5.0 I have sitting for it.

I don't care about those stupid demo gears in autozone. They do not accurately represent the operating conditions of an engine. Please read motor oil 101 and the rest of the articles on bobistheoilguy.com... The lower rad hose is less than $20 at NAPA, btw.

Thinner oil lubricates better, plain and simple. Gear oil can and will make your oil pump fail, and it doesn't flow well enough to cool your engine.

slick: no, you didn't stutter, but firestorm said something that sounded like he was disagreeing. Again.

Wasn't meant to be rude to you brother. I was referring more to directors disagreement. We are on the same page. Some people don't seem to realize how some systems affect other systems.

Where is the temperature sensor? I never replaced it when I changed over the cooling system. I don't see why it wouldn't work though because when it is under 95 degrees outside it works normal. Only when it is triple digits out with the ac on is when it gets almost to the red before I shut of the ac and even then it runs at 235 or so. Its gotta be the heads are bad I don't see anything else it could be.

Im thinking im just not going to worry about it anymore and just run it then whenever it starts steaming out of the hood and blows the cap then I will worry about it. Im just over frustrated. I have been trying everything for months and dumped so much money into this thing. Now I got laid off and the 5000 dollars I have put into this thing would be nice to have right about now. I have a two year old with a disability and I thought this thing would be a good way to have some fun and get outta town with the family. All its been is unreliable and close to a death trap. Anybody that is reading this tread I recommend Cherokees 91 and above. Do your research before you dump a bunch of money into the renix jeeps.
