Go 2", if it's 7/8th, don't waste your time and effort.

Hey, just a piece of advice... buy a set of helping hands from the parts store (long flexible metal tube with 3 prongs inside that grab stuff) and then get some rope or strong twine... you'll have to remove your rear bumper, and put your helping hands through the hole in the rear panel and then feed it to the hole you want the bolt to go through.... grab the rope and pull it through, feed the rope through the bolt plate (rectangular plate the bolt goes through inside the frame rail to keep it in place) use duct tape to tape the rope to the bolt and pull it through... the kits for our jeeps come with a part called a "bolt seat feeder"... I installed a used one on mine and didn't have that, so this is the easiest method I found. You can also find install videos on YouTube to help you out.

Are you sure that 89 is ready to give it up? It will fit.

i do believe the 89 is ready to give it up,story goes, went to pull a part to get a 2" hitch, they had six cherokees, only 3 hitchs availible,we didnt bring power saw to cut bolts (always bring something to cut bolts).broke a rachet, stripped one bolt, got around 87 degrees,i said **** it,left there pissed.got home, old lady said you can take this one off my Laredo for 50 bucks which has everything wit it.thing about it,she never used it,and didnt even know it was under her bumper til i pointed it out to her.feels like im taking advantage of her and dont want to,i know she can get more which i might up the price for her when i go get it today.what u think?

if it is in good shape... they are worth 75 maybe a 100 if all the hardware comes off.... if it stuck and starting to rust... 50 is fair... you would probably only pay like 15-25 at the jy

Agree... however, I paid about 40 for mine at the junkyard, though that JY has a rep for being a little pricey... turned around and sold the big bulky universal hitch that didn't fit so great for 50 bucks... I would give her 75, but any more than that and you're beginning to climb up into the "new" price range. Just my .02
