ok here is a little history. couple months ago the 4.0 overheated and shut off, and spun a bearing. ive replaced the rotating assembly, but ever since it overheated that last time i have had a random no crank issue.
if it wont crank with the key i just jumped the starter relay and it was fine. but no its nothing. i can here the fuel pump kick on when i turn the key over but no starter. i jump the relay and its the same thing. ive switched out starter relays i had laying around. but to no avail. any ideas?
it got to the point where it wont start when i need it to. just went outside and it started, turned it off again and tried to start again, nothing. WTH
i cant seem to find my volt meter so im having a buddy bring his over tonight. what do i need to check or where should i start?

I've tried putting it in neutral and jiggle it in park. Fuel pump but no crank.
Like I said I went out earlier and it started right up. Shut it off to try again. NOTHING.

Crankshaft Position Sensor maybe. Did you say you can run a jumper wire and start the engine? If so check your igintion switch. Or maybe your starter. I HATE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. There is too much magic involved with electricity. Good luck man

The photo brings ideas to mind. Water and mud do not mix well with electrical components.
