Default 89 Cherokee engine cut off twice under heavy throttle, only time its ever happend

I was pulling on to the freeway today and gave it some gas, (not floored it but about 3/4 after initial light throttle as to not burn out ) and at around 30 mph the engine cut out quickly 2 times then kept going and was fine.

Its never done this since I've got it, about 400 miles driven now. It hasnt been driven in about a week could that cause it? I did a full tuneup on it when I got it.

What can this be?

It just worries me cause my bmw is all screwed up right now, major intake leak I believe, so the jeep need to be reliable, at least til I get the beemer running good again. When it did that today, I was just like oh great now this cars breaking down... But it kept goin.

It was also DWing pretty bad today for some reason.... But that's another issue obviously.

Thanks for any opinions!

I have the same problem and a number of others. No one really knows very much about renixes your best bet is to check that lund website that gives you a writeup on all the renix sensors. If u figure it out let me know

Its weird though cause it hasn't done it to me before yesterday. But it did it again today after an 60 miles drive I was on the freeway on ramp and gave it some gas and it cut out twice but kept going. What website is that? I don't want to just go randomly replacing a bunch of sensors either.

My guess is your gas pick up tube has settled in a bad spot and you are not getting gas, say after a corner or under hard acceleration. Are you around 1/4 tank when it happens?

mmm ok Ill keep it over a 1/4 tank for awhile and see if it ever happens again. I was just worried that its breaking down on me and I'll be screwed cause my bmw is still screwed up and I sold my eclipse.

Hope the jeep stays dependable...

Thanks for the input
