89' cherokee body fit 99' engine?

Default 89' cherokee body fit 99' engine?

I have 89 cherokee and engine r still working good, and i found 99 cherokee engine and i wonder if would it fit into my 89?? Pls let me know what u already knew.. Thanks

Of course it will fit, it's the same size. Will it work? Not without a lot of modification. Your '89 is a Renix motor, the '99 definitely is not so you'll have to replace most of the harness and all ECU components along with several other things that will ultimately end up costing you about the same as a crate 4.6 stroker with lots more power, torque, and reliability. It is possible, people have done it, but it's getting harder and harder to find things people haven't tried.

So, will it fit? Yes.
Is it a good idea? No.
