89 4.0 idle problems
Hi Guys,
we have a 89 cherokee that pops thru the intake and will not idle. we have checked the fuel pressure, its 15lbs like our manual said it should be and checked regulater, we tried changing map sensor too. the cat has been replaced along with the intake/exhaust gasket. any sugestions would be great.
thanx in advance.

Welcome to the forum! Check your vacuum lines and see if they are leaking. I believe one comes off the brakes as a brakes booster. Having idling issues with my 99. I know the years are different, but the vac lines can affect a lot. Good luck!
I've tried this too and it was suggested to start your jeep and spray some throttle body cleaner on the vacuum lines. If they leak, the line will draw in the fluid and cause the idle to kick up some RPM's.
