88 4.0 auto non-tilt won't shut off?

Starts just fine, can't shut it off. Already replaced ignition switch no change. Any ideas?

Have you tried the fuel shut off relay ? Just swap it with another one and see what happens

Relay should be in the fuse box , could the starter be staying engaged ?

The ignition switch that you put on can possible be bad. I never had to change out the ignition switches on any of my XJ's but I have on other cars and there is a small amount of adjustment to the ones that I have changed. You might want to see if there is any adjustment to it, If so give that a try.
