Default 87 cherokee v6

im looking to buy a 87 jeep cherokee the owner says theres a shaking noise from the rear end does anyone know what this could be and could tell me were to find it or anything will help thank u

Not a lot of possibilities on the rear end. I would start with checking the u-joints on the rear driveshaft.

thats what he said might be wrong now just to make sure im correct the rear u joints are at the rear driveshaft right ?

how would iknow if there bad is there a certain why to check them ?

Block the wheels and take it out of gear in 2WD. Crawl under and rotate the driveline by hand. You may be able to see the cross move inside the caps. Might see things like rust powder at the caps too

it is not lifted he finally got back to me after week of being told to calll back after 6 everynight im going to look at it tomorrow morning im hoping if it is bad if i can find used parts for now
