86 2.8 engine swap

Engine: 2.8- 2bl carb
86 2.8 engine swap
I have a 86 Cherokee Laredo, with a 2.8L 2bl carb, 5 speed standard transmission, 4x4. I need to swap out the motor. I have a good 2.8L EFI from a 87 Jimmy 4x4 with automatic(only 51K miles on it). I just want to swap motors, not the trans or transfer case. Will this be a direct bolt up and also what else would I need to do. Thanks in advance for your help.

they use the same motor mounts, you will need the donor motor's wiring harness....the transmission should bolt up but you might need an adaptor

the actual engine swap will be a direct swap. put your flywheel on the new motor and just drop it in. everything will swap out.
the injection is about as basic as can be. just look up a good wiring diagram for the year of the engine
