ive heard that the early 80s 6cyl were crap how about the 4 cyl?

yes the old 2.8 V6 is total crap. the 4cylinders aren't necessarily bad...but it is a 2.5L 4cylinder trying to push a 3,500lb 4wd SUV. If you want a nice big strong engine, get the inline 6

the new 2.0 probably makes more HP and TQ

specs:

84 2.5L 105hp & 132lb-ft of tq

2010 2.0L 141hp & 158lb-ft of tq
