8.25 27 or 29 spline?

I have a 96 country xj and was wandering is there a way to tell what axles I might have in the rear 8.25 rear end? Was looking in to getting a locker for the rear but didn't want to get the wrong one. Thanks any info.

I believe the later 96 year models came with the 29 spline. Check your build date.
