703 injector win, and other issues!
Ok... first off i would just like to say that i got neon 703 injectors in my 89 and it runs so much better then before! it helped my idle, and it feels like it has better power. As far as fuel economy i really don't know, i seem to like to spin tires and waste fuel that way a lot more now, so getting a accurate mpg reading isn't going to work out haha? I didn't replace the fuel pressure regulator and i don't really know if i was supposed to or not, so if anyone knows let me know!
Ok.. for the bigger issue. When i put the o rings on one of the injectors the bottom plastic piece that goes below the o ring, i think its called the "pintle", anyways it came off, so i snapped it back on and it seemed to stay? but here over 5k miles later i'm still kinda paranoid about it. Is it possible for one of those to just pop off and do who knows what to my motor? Do i need to replace them? or what? If anyone can help out i would really appreciate it.

you don't need a new pressure regulator with the neon injectors - only the ford injectors.
I don't think those plastic pieces will fall off when the injector is installed

oh ok... cool, thats good to know that i don't have to get a new FPR!
So i don't have to worry about the plastic things falling off? every-time i go off roading and am on a dirt road i always worry i will hit a bump and knock one of the stupid things off? but if they can't fall off that would be a huge relief.

In my old Jeep one of the tips broke off and fell in the cylinder. I snapped a new one on and drove it cautiously for a week, but it never gave me any trouble whatsoever.
