703 injector question

Default 703 injector question

Ok so I got 703 injectors yeterday and noticed that 2 out of the 7 that i have have a little like tip on them and the rest are gone. do i need those things?

yes you need them.You can find some extras by getting them from most neon, stratus, v8 thunderbird/town-car/crown-vic/grand marquee injectors. Just be sure not to crack/break them when you remove them and put them back on after putting on new o-rings.

So what happens if I install without them? Just curios. What are they even called and can I get them new?

They are pintle caps. They help keep the injector centered in the engine port. They're not to easy to come by new. Most places have caps, but they're not the correct ones. I was able to get some online once. Honestly, the best place to find them is the JY.

So what your saying is I must get them. I was looking and a lot of ppl look to just have installed them without them. Because honestly I didn't even know that they had them on there untill I was looking at that picture. Not even the dealer has them?

Has anyone installed neon injectors without the pintle caps?
