6.5" lift questions.

6.5" lift questions.
Sorry folks if I'm in the wrong section. I have a 1992 Jeep Cherokee (xj) and recently bought a 3" lift kit from Rough Country and am bored with this height already. Ive decided to go up another 3". I'm not buying a kit this time I've found its cheaper to build it myself. I have 6.5" coils already picked out for a decent price and a buddy has lower control arms he's selling me that came with a 6.5" lift he previously had, I also am ordering 4.5" rear leaves and a 1" block. I have a hack n tap sye kit sitting here for it as well. Now my question(s) are, what else is needed? Do I need to buy a new pitman arm, new rear shackles, new tierod assembly? I'm on a budget and would like to know the major stuff to make it road worthy. I drive it daily and this is gonna be a weekend job for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

But you will need a new track bar (and/or redrill it and/or get a drop bracket). And possibly a pitman arm to eliminate bump steer.
You may also need longer brake lines and sway bar links (if you plan on running one in the front)

Drop pitman Arms are only needed if the draglink needs to be lowered so that it is parallel with the track bar. When they aren't, that's when you get bump steer.
To the OP,
To increase your ride height by 3 inches you'll need the following to do it right.
Taller coils or Coil Spacers
Taller leaf springs and boomerang shackles or shackle boxes (NO BLOCKS!!)
Adjustable track Bar
Correct length shocks
Correct length sway bar end links or Quick Disconnects.
SYE
Rear drive shaft with a Double Cardon Joint
Correct length Front and Rear Brake Lines

There we go, that covers everything. Can't believe I forgot to mention new shocks. My brain wasn't on straight yesterday apparently.

I agree don't redrill at 6 inched...I also agree with changing your mind about the blocks. If you wanna spend a little extra id suggest a shackle over a block....running a small block isn't bad but it isn't near as good as a spacer. If your at 6 why not try and fab up some homemade long arms. I think you'll appreciate long arms in the future if you do it now.
