I was trying to figure out a way to set up my 4.5" lift with quick disconnects considering the kit didnt come with them. So I went to a hardware store and got (2) 7/16 X 2 1/2 clevis pins, two pin clips and some washers to replace my bolts that hold the sway bar to the sway bar links. As you can see in the pictures its pretty simple to install and the materials only cost me about $5. Its an easy way to just pull you clip out of the pin then pull the pin out of the link and your disconnected just in seconds. I have already been driving on it connected and there is no rattles or such. The pin fits perfectly in the links eyelet with to play what so ever and it also has different holes as you can see to make it possible to snug the pin tightly from going side to side. Only thing you need to make sure to do is have the head of the pin on the outside of the sway bar link considering the little space between the frame and sway bar to pull the link out. And to also secure the link somehow after you disconnect it to prevent damage.

I think this might just be worthy of going into the writeup section..
Question...The clevis pins where at the hardware store did you find them and which one did you go to? Might help others in finding the proper ones.

im pretty sure they are zinc plated steel, never heard of them being made out of zinc before. zinc plate is a pretty standard surface finnish on stuff like that. I know that have them at all 3 hardware stores by my house so they shouldn't be too hard to find.
i used one to replace the useless stock end thingermagig on my high lift with a chain grab hook.

just curious what happens to the link rod when its loose. is it going to get jambed into something flopping around. I have no experience with disconnects but would think it would be better to have them release from axle and then could be tied up to the sway bar to be outa the way.

If it was me I would put the pin at the bottom of the link so it can flip up and be attached uptop with sway bar out of the way or have disco pins top and bottom and remove the link all together.

Those links in his pics are what RC,RE all use for their non disco endlinks for bigger lifts. They don't use bushings between the bar and mount, which can cause some clunking of the sway bar and IMHO s crappy design but that's just me.

Use a big washer next to the hitch pin too. I went one step further... Drilled a hole inthe top of the link and use a big wing nut and have a pin to keep the wing nut from spinning...
