I have a 89' Daily Driver Cherokee Auto-Trans on 4" lift (sagging on right rear), 31" tires and 4.10 gears. I'm contemplating upgrading to the RE 5.5" springs. What size tires and gear ratio is recommended? I already have adjustable links and drop down brackets installed.

What drop brackets, swaybar, trackbar, control arms or all of them? What links are adjustable.

At 5.5" you will need adjustable trackbar and control arms, extended brake lines. most likely a SYE and Drive shaft, should consider Long arms or Control arm drops, you will need shocks. Tire you could go to 32" or 33", the 4.10 gears would be ok for 31" and marginal on the 32". With 33" you will want 4.56 or 4.88 gears. You will need 3.75" or 4" backspaced wheels with 32 or 33" tires and some trimming and extended bump stops. I'm sure I missed something, but you get the idea.

 

my 87 has only the adjustable trac-bar and everything else is the same as yours. drop brackets, longer brake lines, and 31s. i am stuck with 3.55 gears though. i also have a bored out throttle body which makes a huge difference
