01 XJ mostly stock w/ 173K and np231 TC- I only bought it about 4 months ago. I've been riding trails/doing some mudding/offroading. As previous RWD 93 2.5L XJ owner, I'm totally loving it. Anyway, when either shifting on the fly into 4H or shifting into 4L at a stop with the trans in N it really rough going into gear. Often in 4H the trans goes back into 2H and likewise in 4L, it will pop the TC into N. Once i get going on the trails in 4L its totally fine-doesn't come out. But it takes a good 5 minutes or so to really get it into 4L. It has popped out in both 1st and 2nd gear (in 4L). Linkage issue? Right when i bought it I drained the TC and filled up with a quart or so of Lucas non-slip trans additive and DEXIII- because i noticed this issue right away. I topped it off. Any tips? Hope I was clear enough. You guys kick ***. I've learned so much on here. Any suggestions are appreciated.
