You should also be able to disconnect the rear and front driveline at the transfercase and get under the rig to see if the output shafts are spinning. DO NOT disconnect at the axles, or your drivelines will spin around and remove things you need, like brakelines, exhaust pieces, and maybe even some sheetmetal. This is the safer route and doesn't require jacking up your rig but is hard if your not lifted. Chock everything(if you can) and have a plan if it decides to take of on its own. Safety first!! I had a '69 F-250 take off down a hill once when I disconnected a driveline!
