Default 4WD question-----

Ok I just got an 88 cherokee to start building. It goes into 4wd fine- the light comes on that says part time 4wd. But when i hit the gas the light goes off, and when i let off off it comes back on. as far as i can tell it stays in 4wd.. is this normal? Thanks

The 4WD lights are notoriously unreliable, im not 100% sure but on the vac disc like yours the vacuum is what trips the light, on my 99 the light did that and it was the bushings in the linkage were worn and when a load was applied it caused the linkage to move, so check the vacuum hoses, and the shifter linkage bushings is my suggestion
