I just did a transmission swap on my 2000 Cherokee. The issue I have now is the old 4WD linkage brackets do not work. I went to the dealership today and the said that there is no difference between the manual or automatic linkage brackets. I asked for both 2000 and 2001. I think the 2001 came with the NV3550 but I am not sure.

Anyways I need help as to where to go to this project completed I need the brackets so that I can control my 4WD, please help.

Well you did a transmission swap... assuming you did a xfer case at the same time, it should still be a NP231J or a NP242j and it should be the same. Make sure all the linkage is flipped the right way so it looks kinda like the oem setup. they never change so just slide under one you see at the local grocery store.

np242j's are pretty rare compared to the np231j

if you switched from auto to manual, the AX15 is right at 1.25" shorter than the AW4, but you can just modify the bracket that mounts at the Xfer from the aw4 to fit the ax15, and adjust the linkage hole rearward the same amount as the tranny is shorter. also, you'll need to shorten that lowest linkage the same amount as you moved the hole.

i just converted my '99 5spd 2wd to 4wd using a '96 4wd auto for a donor, and had to go thru most of the same stuff.
