4L60/700R4 in my Cherokee?
Not without an adapter, I don't think an AMC-pattern bellhousing was ever made for the THM700/4L60.
(Oh, and the electronic version would be called a "4L60-E". Just an FYI...)
Why for do you want to? The AW4 is usually consdered to be a superior slushbox anyhow (it is, after all, installed behind the turbo I6 in the Supra...) and is rather more reliable than the THM700R4 in most cases. I've put a couple of AW4s to far more abuse than THM700R4/4L60s have survived at my hands...
I do typically recommend the THM700R4/4L60 swap when upgrading the 2.8L V6 to the 3.1 or 3.4 - since the THM700 has overdrive, and the A904 does not. However, you still want to skip 1987 and earlier THM700R4s, due to a fatal flaw in the valve body (the usual repair for those is outright replacement with a later model. Then, strip the old one down for scrap metal - you get a couple dozen pounds of aluminum and a pound or two of bronze, typically.)

Yeah the 4L60E is electronic, I have a 4L60 (later year 700R4[93]). The reason I was asking was because I have one at hand.. I now have an AW4 and it's just that - a slushbox lol. On the highway it slips sooo bad (and supposedly it was a brand new unit purchased like 4 years ago). What does one go for these days (new) or cost of rebuild?
