Default Is this a 49 state OEM cat???

Just a quick identification question.... Is the cat in the pics beneath an OEM cat from a 96-2000 49 state Cherokee??
I really have little to compare to, hence this thread... Maybe different looking, but dimensionally identical cats were used over the years?

As my only reference, i know this cat in the links beneath is OEM

That is an OEM cat for sure, now I have no clue if its from a Cherokee or not but its definitely a Chrysler cat. Aftermarket cats are easy to spot, they almost always have a cheap heat shield tack welded to them and almost always have a marking that show which way the exhaust flows.

Doesn't look like the OE cat on our '98. Ours also has the Chrysler pentastar on the heat shield.

My OEM cat (96) is the same as what's in your pics too.

Whoa, that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside now!

Thanks!

Looks like there were 2 different style cats for 49 state XJ's, but they had the same dimensions...
