hi guys, havnt been on here in along time, i dont have the net at home anymore. i can only use the comp for a few mins at work, i tried searching but im out of time.. just need a quick anwser please.

Long story short, a friend owes me a Aw4, drops it off at my house when im not home, i get home to see it looks nothing like my trans. i believe its a 42re out of a 95 grand cherokee. my friend has now moved across canada... so am i stuck with a trans i cant use or is there a way it'll work?

It could work, but why would you waste your time?

 

find right one.
Too many problems to use another transmission. First thing to do is to check electrical diagrams for both transmissions, then to replace transmission computer.
But tr. computer communicates with ECM.
It is just too complicated.
I used valve body from another transmission and one bolt had different location.
As far as I know valve body parts are not available for 42 transmission (Durango, Gr. Cherokee)
