Default 4 wheel drive light not working

I just put a new transfercase in my 96cherokee and the light on the dashboard that tells you if you are in 4wd isn't working anymore is it just a bad sensor or something in the dash it worked with the old tcase and with this one when it was first put in about 2weeks ago it worked in neutral after puting it in then put it into 2wd and since then the lights never worked again the other tcase was swaped out because it had a hole in it any info would be great thanks

Id say the switch is bad. Just take the one out of the old tcase and put it in.
