4 wheel drive issue - Help needed

Default 4 wheel drive issue - Help needed

Help/advice needed.....

Basically when I put my 98 XJ in 4 wheel drive going straight everything seems to work fine BUT when I do sharp left or right turns the front wheels judder/jolt ?

What is the issue?

4x4 mode is not intened to be used on surfaces that are not loose in traction like paved roads

Hi and welcome to CF from Tj. There will be some "Binding" when in 4 wheel drive especially on hard roads. Your not supposed to engage 4 wheel on hard roads/Pavement or concrete as you can possibly break something...Tj

X2. Its because the transfer case is part time and you have too much teaction letting it bind.(Not good)

No issues thats just what you will get with part time cases.
