what 96_xj gave you will work. He is switching power but my idea of switching gound is a bit safer. as for a diode, a simple 1/4w will do. You're only switching miliamps to drive the relays. all your current draw is from the power source for the relay. the diode shouldn't cost more then 10 cents.

Thanks for all the info.
Cherockee, is the center pole on the switch all that gets grounded?(not including the lights themselves) Also the arrow between the center pins on the relays is that just to indicate the direction the current is traveling? Are those two pins wired together?

I'm sorry, my fault. I should have labled it a bit better.
using this diagram you will be switching a ground between the two relays. One relay powers one set of light, the other relay powers the other set of light. the connection between the two relays is actually a 1/4 watt diode (about 25 cents at a radio shack). The diode will prevent ground from feeding on one direction only so when the switch is flipped one direction only one relay will be activated, when flipped the other way both relays will be activated.
now this could be turned around to supply ground to the lights if you wanted to, but it will look a bit different. This way (as shown in my picture) is easier because if you use a heavy enough power supply wire (with fuse) you can hit all the power pins of the relays with the same wire. Then you only have one wire to run to your lights and then hopefully the lights get their ground from the mounting (or a short wire).
Hope that clears it up for you better.
