4.5" Lift and 35" tires? Will they work.

I want to buy a 4.5" lift and get 35" mud tires. Will they work together. Im thinking I might have to trim the fenders. Is there anything else.

im running a 4.5 inch lift with 33's and im gonna have to trim the fenders

elnino Jul 25, 2008 11:34 AM

yes u can use 35s with 4.5 in fact it will be a great setup...just make sure you trim ...A LOT ...and...bump stop.....or limiting straps..which ever makes you happier

tmannn Jul 25, 2008 11:36 AM

i would go with the trimming so that you can get the full flex and potential out of you lift.. i love my 4.5 inch lift!

yep trimming and bump stops otherwise you will hit the fenders and rub like mad on flexing..That's a lot of tire for a 4.5" lift..

i know there is someone here in florida that runs 3 inches on 36s tsls.....thats crazy..lol..it kind of wheels like and ifs truck since it has no flex!!

If you have the D35 then you will need another rear end. That won't hold the 35s for very long. A good mudhole and that will snap an axle if you are lucky or pop teeth off the ring gear.

i wuld really think about going smaller tires.. you are gonna run into problems.. what gears you have?

okcjeeper Jul 25, 2008 11:53 AM

Yeah I think 33's would be the max I'd run unless you have a D44 or 8.8 rear end..and even then I think I'd want an extra inch or so of lift for 35's..

tmannn Jul 25, 2008 11:54 AM

x2 on the 33's great size tires for the lift! great flex and minimal trimming

Just a side note but you can run 35's on a post 96 c8.25.

What are the bump stops?

JeepersCreepers Jul 25, 2008 01:42 PM

also i have the 3.55 gears. Will i have to replace those or can they say for 35"s

Bouncy Jul 25, 2008 01:49 PM

You can use any gears you like...You wont like them. But you can use the 3.55s.

For wheeling your looking at 4.56. 4.88 if you rock crawl. And if you have a d35 or C8.25, you can't do the 4.88s. 4.56 is as large as they go.

You CAN put 4.88s in a D35, they make them. Which, BTW, is the only ratio I'd run with tires that size. I have 4.88s on mine with 33" tires and love it!!
