Ok so a week ago I replaced the thermostat because eng. was overheating. It no longer overheats but there always seems to be a puddle on the pass. side. So today when I parked I popped the hood, steam and coolant were shooting from the top of the reservoir tank. Would this indicate a bad cap? tank? Is the system pressurized? THanks

are talking about the tank next to the firewall, yes its pressureized, and yes those caps should be replace every 2 years or so,it could also mean there is air in the system still

Yup, I think the 90s were still a closed pressurized system. Did you burp it after the T stat? Back the back wheels on a ramp hill etc, remove the temperature sensor on the drivers side manifold, all the way in the back next to the valve cover, its a 1/2 inch, let it sit like that till all the air pops out, keep filling the reservoir. Buy a new cap from the dealer. If it happens again after you do the two items mentioned, it could be due to the overheating. Exhaust gas gets into the cooling system overpressure it.
