Default 4.0L 2000 cherokee wont start, no power with new battery.

I have a 2000 cherokee sport 4.0L auto trans. I came outside today to start it and it did nothing. i noticed the interior lights were not on and the radio did not come on with the key forward. i checked the battery (which is 1 year old) and it is at full charge. I stuck it on a charger just incase. no luck. there is absolutely no power to the jeep. what things should I start checking?

Check the connections linked to the battery and make sure it's all hooked up correctly

I took the cables off and sanded the terminal posts and set the cables back down over the post and it started and worked fine. once i tightened them down and tried it wont start or have power. kinda strange. so i ended up sanding the inside of the cable ends and the top and bottom of them plus the terminals again. tightened it up. seems ok for now anyway.

Those factory battery termals/wire is a bad design. Try replacing those with a aftermarket pair and you will be g2g

Get those terminals as clean as you can, connect the battery and then use that purple battery terminal protector spray stuff on them.
