Hey everyone, recently my 2.5 tranny blew a gear, I was wondering if a 4.0 tranny would mount to the 2.5 motor...any help please!!!

 

you have the 3 speed auto?

 

so an aw4 swap might be possible - depends on the year truck it comes out of. 1987-1990 AW4s have the correct spline count, but you still need to find the bellhousing and torque converter to mate it to the 2.5L, as well as the TCU or use a shift controller

You have a AX-5 trans now. You are looking at swapping an AX-15 out of a later cherokee. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/ax5.htm
