4.0 squeal?

ok i just picked up a comanche today and it squeals really loud no matter if its at idle or driving. i was told its the serpentine belt and that it was loose. if so, how do i tighten it cause i have no clue.

look for the power steering pump..you will find 2 bolts i believe.. loosen them up and then tighten the pulley below then tighten those 2 bolts back up on the power steering assembly... if its like my xj you will need to clean all your pulleys.. and spend the money and get the best belt.. mine hasnt squeked since.. gator belts ftw

You'll need to loosen, not remove, the bolt that holds the pulley in place...it faces forward toward the radiator near the power steering pump. After it is loose, you'll need to locate the adjusting bolt which is near the pulley but faces up toward the hood. Crank on that bolt clockwise to move the pulley up, in which case, it tightens the belt. Don't forget to tighten the front pulley bolt when done.
