4.0 liter Overheating bad
About three months ago i did a headgasket on my 2000 cherokee sport that has 107xxx miles on it. Ever since then ive had problems with my 4.0 running hot. Ive put a new thermostat, electric fan and radiator cap on it. The coolant system has been flushed a bunch of times and the other day it got above 260 degrees suddenly. My guess is that the head is cracked since 4.0's are known for that. Lookin for everyones input before i go tearing it apart ounce again.

Have u replaced the radiator, the fan clutch, the waterpump? If the old rad has scale build-up inside, no amount of flushing will do any good. It's either got to be "rodded out" by a rad shop or replaced with new. Overheating is the #1 reason for the head(s) to crack on ANY water cooled engine.

This is out of my 97 with 160k. I got a new aluminum radiator from advance auto parts for 100 bucks. I never had any trouble with leaks or overheating, untill I fixed my AC, then she started to overheat. All the missing fins were hard to spot with the electric fan in place. Check out your radiator!
