I know this was asked a thousand times but im completely torn between getting 30s or 31s in the next couple days.
im only asking because everyones stock xj sits slightly different due to sagging and how much backspacing their wheels have.
i have 235/75/15 on there now. new leafs in the rear so i have zero sag and my front end is sitting about level with the rear, my wheels have a 4" backspacing so i shouldnt worry about rubbing my lca. and i plan on trimming my fenders right where the lip is too, so around an inch off. i dont do any hardcore offroading, just driving on the beach every so often and usually with some of my buddies so i have added weight and will rub my 235s ever so slightly on the rear fender when i hit some big sand whoops going 15 mph. other than that its my DD and its on the road 98% of the time. in about a month or two i plan on doing a BB around 2 inches.
im really leaning towards 31s. what do you guys think??

If you are gonna trim anyways, do 31's. you're already on 29's so you'll only have about an inch more sidewall in either dirrection. My tires measure out to Just under 30" and they don't come close to rubbing on my stock, sagging height. If you're that concerned that it might rub though, you could just do a 1" lift and you'll have no problems getting them on there. Just do 1" spacers and either a 1" block or shackle in the back. it shouldn't cost oyu much more than $50 to do.

) im feeling pretty good about 31s now
I just put 31's on stock wheels with no lift. There was only rubbing for daily driving at full lock in a turn, however, with flex the back tires jammed up on the wheel wells and I had to cut and fold for clearance.

That looks really good! I am planning on going with 31s and would like to do something similar. I live in Florida so no rock crawling for me either.Did you use different bumpstops? How did it do on trails? Any more pics of it at this stage?
