In a previous post i said i might have a good deal on a RC 3 inch lift w/ add a leaf and shocks. I took a look at the kit and for $100 it doesnt seem bad. It hasnt been installed, springs are good leafs are good but my question is about the shocks!! They are just plain white with red boots.

The problem i noticed was i have to pull the "plunger" i guess youd call it up and then if i push it back it it just stays there and doesnt come back up. From what i know about shocks, when you press them in they slowly spring back out. So i was thinking those shocks must be garbage. Then the guy im buying the kit from says thats how the RC shocks are?? Is this true?

Im running skyjacker hydros and they are the same way. They are suppose to be like that. Your real problem is AAL though.

Those are oil shocks, similar to Rancho's. It's how theyre supposed to work

Ok cool thanks for the help. Yeah ive heard diff opinions on the AAL. Think you can enlighten me a bit? If anything, instead I was thinking of putting blocks between the axle and stock leaf springs, dont know if that would be better than the AAL. The kit is actually a 3" front 2" rear lift kit. Thats what the instuctions with it said.

what about a track bar does it come with the relocation bracket?

AAL basically adds a helper leaf to the factory leaf pack, but if your jeep is like most other jeeps your rear leaf packs will be saggy from years of abuse. So by using AAL you will sit higher in the front after the AAL is installed. Full packs should be the way to go or you can use "bastard packs" which are the cheaper route. Blocks are a no no in my opinion. Lots of threads on here about people debating blocks so I wont go into that.

block are a users choice i use them no probs but that is your decision

all ive heard is spring warp, etc... doesnt blocking your springs, even a little, put more stress on them?

Yes it puts more stress, and this is what happens

Currently my jeep is sitting higher in the rear, the leafs arent sagging yet. Are you trying to tell me that the AAL will cause it to sag?

And no it didnt come with a track bar relocation. With a 3" lift ive heard you dont need an adjustable track or relocation bracket, and ive heard that sometimes you do?
