3.5 RE or Tuff Country?
I just bought a 2000 XJ and am going to put a 3.5" lift on it, and I see alot of people on these forums are running the rubicon express, so is that the best kit for the money? Tuff country has a 3.5 also and I have ran thier lift kits before and have been very happy with them. I will do mild off-roading, but mostly highway becasue it will be a daily driver too.
And how does the transfer case drop bracket the tuff country kit has work and is it necessary? Does it just lower the whole case and angle the whole tranny/engine too? I don't want vibration, but I don't want other things messed up either.
I'm assuming I'll need extended brake lines, where do I get them?

Depends on your budget. Rough Country's the cheapest, Rubicon Express is one of the more expensive. But that's for a reason IMO. I saved up for about 8 months so I could get the RE, and I love it. But if I'd gone with RC, I would've had money for more mods.

IMO, Rubicon Express hands down. Really is the best bang for the buck (all be it a bigger buck). The RE will come with extended Stainless Steel lines for the rear brakes, but not for the front. I'm running the RE 3.5" Super Ride, still using my front brake lines, and i'm not running into any problems...even at full flex.
And for the record, mine is my DD and I do about 95% highway travel of generally trips no less than 25-30 miles one way.
Might want to go ahead and budget in a SYE. At the very least a transfercase drop, but once you get up to 3"+ you really should go the SYE route.

I run Rough Country but for two reason: the budget, now i can spend more money and diff. mods. and I had a Rough Country on my last Cherokee and beat the **** out of the lift with no problems.
But if I had the extra money, the Rubicon Express is supposed to be awesome. I would have went with it, but my budget wouldnt let me and i didnt want to wait.
