2000 2wd xj with 170,000 miles.

Currently it is 100% stock and sagging in the rear..
I still beat the **** out of it once in a while
(going further than my 4wd friends
But it is my daily driver and I had originally bought it with the intention to keep it practical, but as we all know that usually goes out the window pretty fast.

I am wondering what are the specs of my rear end?

Also, what axle would be a good match for my front end when I decide to become a man and upgrade to 4wd?

Should I look into replacing the rear gears and going with a locker instead at this mileage?

I am open to any suggestions

I did a little searching and a d30 for the front would be alright?

anybody have any idea on the ratio of the d30 compared to the 8.25?

 

Put a auto-locker in the rear (2-3 hr install) and have fun while u r deciding what to do.
