I have 96 XJ 2wd and I took apart my center console to get ready for my 4wd conversion and found a wire harness that is just laying there It is close to the e brake on the pass side. What does it go to? It has seven wires. I am corlor blind so I can't tell ya what they look like Sorry!

Becuase even though the factory made them 2wd, they add hidden acessories so that you can make them 4x4. Yeahh its more like saying The factory makes them 2wd, but really there ment to be 4x4, so they leave all that extra 4x4 stuff hidden in the jeep. Quick Story...... Back then when jeep decided to start building the Cherokees, they were all ment to be 4x4. Untill they started to notice that they should build 2wd cherokees for many stupid reasons, One reason is becuase some city people dident need 4x4, so they dident want to pay more for a 4x4 when they really dident need them, so thats when jeep decided to make 2wd cherokees. Just my 0.2 Cents.

power mirror switch wires

 

Why would the power mirror switch wire be under the center console. Oh well if thatys what it is then I still won't need it lol

 

lol if you look on the backside of the black part of the ebrake cover you can see a square marking on it. thats where they put the switch lol

 

x2 I love how all the wires are there to add all the accessories.

Btw, if you figure how how to make the dash lights work for the 4x4 during this conversion show me a PM or something. I did the conversion a while ago but never did figure out the 4x4 dash lights, i was more interested in getting running so i had a ride to work
