2wd 5spd vs. 4wd 5spd.

Can someone please tell me the difference between a mid 90s 2wd 5spd, and a 4wd 5spd. Is it just a different tail piece to mount a TC, or are there other differences? I ask because Im parting a 2wd, and need to know if its just a matter of adding or subtracting a tail piece etc for use in a 4wd.

Good question. I'll be watching this one as I have a 2WD 5 speed and am wondering about the difference myself. I have often wondered what tit would take to convert my 5 speed manual, 2WD, 4 banger, to a 5 speed manual, 4WD, 4 banger......more than likely a lot more than I realize I'd bet.

Just a thought. You might use the "edit" feature to start making a list right there in Post #1. Like;

OK so far I have: 4 WD front Axle, Center Consel and 4WD shifter linkage...Ect

I would think finding a parts donor Jeep would be sweet, something crunched.

Also maybe a search might find a list that's been done already. Sorry to hear about your "condition"
