i hear its very easy everything should bolt right up and there should be an access pannel that unblots for the shifter for 4 wheel drive to go threw the floor

There is a way to lock it in for good. I saw it on here once it involved a clamp or something. I was thinking it would be easier to swap the v.i.n. unless the 94 is in rough shape in general.
it's not too hard, and they don't *have* to be from the exact same year, especially if you have a donor vehicle.
i bought a real clean '99 5spd 2wd, and later got a cheap rough-running '96 auto 4x4 for a donor and swapped everything over three days time and now have a '99 5spd 4x4!!

unless you want to open the 2wd transmission to swap the output shaft, you will need to swap it aswell. I don't know what tranny you have but keep in mind that 1991 is the year when the ouput shaft of both AX15 and AW4 switched from 21 splines to 23.
I have got the swap done last week everything went very well. The only think that didnt swap was the transfer case skid plate. The welded in nuts in the frame are no in there in the 2wd jeep but my 4wd works great cant wait to go on a run
