Lightbulb is the 297 u-joint strength increase worth it?

well i have an 88 comanche with the 260 u-joint and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to the 297, is their really that much of a strength upgrade to go through the hassle of pulling the carrier to change the seal location?
any help is appreciated.

yes, very much worth the upgrade.
i have been known to blow out 2 or 3 on one trail ride with my locked front axle on 36's (yeah, i know).

but now that i swapped out the whole front diff with a non disco style (from a 242 equipped xj), i have never had a problem anymore. (i left the locker out of this axle, for now).

once you get the 297 shafts, you could upgrade those 297 joints for the even stronger 760 joints. which i'll be doing soon.

just think d44 axles use the 297 joints.

i swapped out the whole axle both for ease and my lca mount was torn off anyways.
