Default 242 Rear Output Bearing

OK, I need to replace the rear output shaft bearing on my 242 transfer case. Anyone ever do this job. I know how to take the case apart, I was wondering if the bearing is pressed into the case or onto the shaft itself?????????????? Thanks for any help

My bad. When you took apart the 231 did you notice if the rear output bearing was pressed into the tailcone itself or onto the output shaft???

I think all the extra punctuation is scaring us off. You know the extra ?????? means you really mean business. HA HA. Oh by the way I got nothing. Never had T-case issues (knocks on wood).

Ive never taken one apart, but the exploded view of the 242 in the manual shows the rear bearing and snap-ring going onto the shaft. There's a bushing and seal in the tail housing.

I will try to have some info Sat morning. I blew the seal on 242 transfer case and do not yet know how far I am going to have to go tearing into the transfer case depending what I find.
